About PasteOkay
PasteOkay is a small, independent pastebin built around one idea: text you share should not live forever by accident. You paste something, choose how long it should exist, optionally protect it, and send one link.
The service is designed for private handoffs rather than public publishing. There is no public paste directory, no advertising, no analytics and no third-party scripts. The pages you are reading are static, so they load without a client-side framework.
Who runs it
PasteOkay is an independent project operated by a small team. The product, the comparisons and the security policy are maintained together, so a change to the service can be reflected in the documentation on the same day. The service runs on Cloudflare Pages, Pages Functions and D1.
How the service is funded
The free plan is not ad-supported. PRO is a one-time payment for larger pastes, a higher hourly rate, longer expiry and the short link tools. There is no subscription and no data business behind the service.
Editorial policy for comparisons
PasteOkay is our own product, so every comparison is a vendor comparison. We state that on the page instead of pretending to be an independent lab. The rules are simple:
- Describe the competitor from its public documentation and visible product behaviour.
- Name the cases where the competitor is the better choice, not only the cases where PasteOkay wins.
- Date every page and link to the provider so a reader can verify a detail.
- Do not invent ratings, test results, market share or testimonials.
- Correct the page when a reader or a provider reports a factual error.
The comparisons were last checked in October 2026. Prices and features change; verify the current details with each provider before you rely on them.
Privacy and security
Pastes are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM. Browser encryption is optional and keeps the key in the URL fragment, outside the server's reach. Paste passwords are derived in the browser with PBKDF2-SHA256. The service stores a keyed, rotating fingerprint for rate limiting instead of a raw IP address.

Machine-readable information
Search engines and AI assistants can use the LLM site summary, the full content file, the sitemap and the Atom feed. The HTML pages are canonical; the text files exist to make the same information easier to ingest.
